Default Ducktails - Any difference between maunfacturers?

Does anyone know if all ducktails are exactly the same, i.e. height, angle, etc, between all the manufacturers that make them? I know of MA shaw, getty, gt-racing, renn(something or another), is there anyone else?

I'm leaning towards getty's carbon fiber ducktail. Has anyone seen the carbon fiber work on the getty? Is it 100% carbon or is it fiberglass based with CF laid on top? Thanks!

Smile Let me rain on the Duck Tail parade...

The Duck Tail, when you read Frere's The 911 Story, was essentially a failure...it was replaced with the tea trey spoiler. The Duck Tail will do nothing for your 993 car aero wise....however you are probably on to something, the Duck Tail will probably be about as efficient as the present stock 993 spoiler...so if you add a duck tail you wont have to change the front splitter. Duck...not for me....

If Porsche had wanted you to have a Duck Tail, they would have had one as an option...they choose not to.

If you have to have a Duck Tail, I have had nothing but good results from Getty Design...some say that getty Design and MA Shaw are the same company...I dont know this to be true or false. At the end of the day...whatever makes you happy. It's your car....

Hey Martin how have you been?

A fellow rennlister, daedton, installed a ducktail and he wrote he noticed a difference.

"The performance of the ducktail is true to form and history. This start creating downforce at a much lower speed and I'm not kidding when I say that I feel a noticeable difference compared to stock." - daedton.

Has anyone else noticed any differences with the ducktail?

Nonsense.

The duck reduces lift significantly.

Better ideas came along later, as they always do.
