Default Metal Valve stems ?

Do I need to have metal valve stems on the 996 TT Hollow spoke wheels? I purchased a set of refurbished wheels without the valve stems in them. Checking if I can use regular rubber stems.

Hijack

Roche, do you have a side view pic of your car with those wheels? your avatar doesn't quite show enough of the wheels. What color are those wheels?

sorry for the hijack........

the wheels were stripped and powdercoated an audi dark metallic gray and then finished with a matte clear coat. they look great in the sun, the metallic gets picked up but the matte clear keeps them from shining too much.

a couple pics:

After experiencing a rubber valve stem failure on my '85 Turbolook in the middle of the Utah desert, I only use metal stems.

I've also had the rubber stems fail and switched to metal ones.

There are some pretty trick ones available with wireless pressure sensors out there if you're so inclined....

I was actually browsing Suncoasts parts specials the other day and they show the different types of valve stems. I've got a set of hollow spoke turbo twist wheels in the garage and didn't realize they take a special valve stem. Looks like you need set "C".

These wheels need steel valves.... the intent in EU is for cars capable of 250 kmh or more to have steel valves installed. My old car had them.
