Default Brad Penn oil

Ok, not to start another "oil war" here on the forums... But is anyone using Brad Penn grade 1 10w40 or SWEPCO 306 10w40 in their 993?

I used Swepco 20w50 in my 993 and have been happy. Plus, I can pick it up locally.

I think I will try BP 10W40 for the Fall oil change before putting it away for winter.

I use it and is happy with it. Cheaper than Mobil 1 but with the necessary ZDDP.

I have been using it since the last change and am about to order another case. Car's been running nice and cool-no problems.

I'm running BP 20W50. It's fine.

I think someone here suspected a slightly higher operating temps, but that may have been condition-dependant. I have seen zero change in operating temp from Mobil 1.

I'm using the the 20-50 Racing oil. No issues here. This is my 1st change though.

I think there is the other version that is not race oil but I forget what weight it is. The decision is do you track your car or not.

I got my oil from LN Engineering.

10w40 or 20w50 depends on what is the ambient temperature you normally drive. The manual specifies what oil to use based on ambient temp.

No, I have no plans to track the car, so 10w40 grade 1 racing oil will be good?

I "changed" to Brad Penn Racing 20-50 at last oil change. I can not tell any difference from the Mobil 1 I used before.

I am on my second oil change with BP and I mixed the 10w30 and 20w50 to get 15w40. Bought one case of each which gave me enough for 2 oil changes and oil in between to add.

I like it on paper with the added anti-wear additives and it is very reasonably priced. In a perfect world it would be a full synthetic (it is 10% synthetic). If cost was no option I would proably go with redline as it has the anti-wear additives and is a full syn...however, almost twice the cost. I AX/DE my car quite a bit so I change my oil more than once a year. If I left it in for a whole year I would proably want an oil analysis to see if it is holding up.

I plan on continuing to use it. Hope that helps.
