Default 993 3.8 RSR/Cup Engine for sale on UK ebay

I'm not affiliated but this does look like a bargain to the right person: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PORSCHE-3-8-RS...1%7C240%3A1318

I will be meeting with the owner (Alistair) who I've purchased many parts from in the past this Saturday so if anybody would like me to take some pictures then I will happily do so

Somethings not right w/ that picture.

I've never seen a Cup or RSR setup for AC, the and both the Cup & RSR used the Theilart race intake, not the prevram intake I see there.

Thanks Bill I did not even notice that - So I'm guessing a stock X51?

I will go and see the engine as stated on Saturday and have a closer look. I hope I can see the car it was removed from which I guess will be damaged as breaking cars is what they do.

LOL Matt, this could be the case!

I'd concur with Bill,...I've never seen any 993 Cup, RS or RSR engine that looks like that.

there are some engine bay pics on the "RSR rocker panel" thread currently running....Intake apart, the cups were rated at 310bhp,,I always thought the RSR's had uprated barrels and cams,,,rated above 310 bhp...nearer 360bhp depending on the intake and restrictors used.

Here is a picture of 993 cup engine, I happened to have;

That is a Cup engine, further examination will reveal a 964 crank and 3 sheave pully mit harmonic balancer. The cams are solid lifter SS, 320hp is about right for an M001 Cup. The RSR's used much lumpier cams and an al. manifold w/ ITBs for ~360hp
