Default Strut towers .... worn ?

sorry chaps.. another quick question


i need to check all my strut towers / top mounts before i get my geo done

does anyone knwo how to check that they are all in good order ?

The mounts? Unh uhh.... They are probably fine. The shocks themselves are toast if stock, though.

new kw3 going on so just worried about the top mounts
thanks guys

i kind of want to make sure rather than guess by mileage so might pop them round to my local specialist

Just have a close look at them looking for cracks. Feel the bearing action on the fronts.

The body dimensions for wreck repair ar all in the workshop manuals
here's one relevant spec, measure between the leading inboard strut bolt holes on the top of the towers, spec is 869+/-2mm

measure from the leading A arm chassis bolt back to the plane of the tower centers, spec is 215mm

measure from the plane of the front bumper mopunt to the plane of the tower centers, spec is 722+/-2mm
