Need new helmet FAST
Long story short, I ruined my helmet tonight. Too stupid to go into details, but it is toast.
It is (was) a Bieffe F1 I believe XL (I think the number was 61 on the back). Anyone know a good place online to find one, preferably 2005 instead of getting a 2000 and just having to replace it shortly...
Alternatively, any good shops between Clark, NJ and Millville, NJ when I drive down from my client on Thursday?
Thanks,

Apex? They gave me a Rennlist discount. Dont know if they carry what you are looking for but it was real fast service.

Just found out Bieffe is out of business...you are right. I was examining rush mail order if I could find the same helmet. Otherwise I think that for the safety, not to mention the $, it is best to go somewhere and get "fitted", esp. with my big ol fat noggin.
I know Stable Energies is up the GSP from my client, but it is 25 or 30 miles the wrong way from where I'd be heading at NJMP. So I was wondering if there were any other places along the way. Someone mentioned CDOC is at the track, which is great to know, though their online products showed pretty expensive helmets relative to the Bieffe F1 I bought a few years ago.
Other than SE and CDOC, can anyone make any recommendations for an actual shop?

JPS, have a look at eBay. You might still find a Bieffe there and probably a 2005 cert to boot.
I went from a pair of Bieffes to an HJC, but you are absolutely right - try several helmets on, it's such a personal thing to find the right shape.

Good tip that HJC might be a good match, thx.
Yeah, I'll check Ebay, though Driving Impressions up at Lime Rock (where I bought it) said they never produced a 2005 F1 model.

I dunno about a Chinese helmet. Has HJC received any good test results? At Honda we used to say "If you have a $50 head, wear a $50 helmet." As a result, I became a bit of an Arai and Shoei snob, but that's coming from a motorcycle perspective. I expect that Simpson is good quality for autos and I believe that Bell has improved.

HJC has made very good helments for the last 38 years in my opinion. Just in case - mine was made in Korea (and Bieffes were made in Italy).
It is, of course, different for different applications. Mine is autocross where helmet is a complete and utter afterthought, so my thoughts are skewed this way. If I was preparing to scrub asphalt with my head after falling off a crotch rocket, I could certainly have a different opinion

I have a Suomy karting helmet and I love it, FYI for future searching.
The Suomy replaced my Arai which replaced my Simpson. All great helmets. The Simpson was cool due to the Stig look.
