I used a heat gun and goo-gone---maybe 20 minutes of work to get them off. That was last year and I have yet to put stone guards back on.

I did this about a month ago. I heated the area up with a heat gun then wiped it clean with a rag that had lacquor thinner on it. It didn't remove any paint. Afterward, I clay barred the area. Still looks great and the new stone guard looks great.

Wow your car looks great. It really looks like a pro buffed it out with a helper. And those wheels. Where did you get those. That car is sweet.

Yes. I do need to give Mike credit for all the ideas. He was spot on when it came to removing the stone guards. The sanding, buffing, and waxing he directed certainly brings out the shine in the finish. I'll need to give the car and wheels a polish before the WV meet and greet.

I do need to say I got the stone guards from Mark D and they are an excellent fit. Less expensive than other places. I'll be getting them from him next time I do this - I won't be waiting 14 years to remove them.

You mean the guard itself? Or installed?
I can take a pic tomorrow if you want.

OK, will do my best to get a decent shot of them installed. They become relatively transparent.
Off of the car is easy.
Will post tomorrow.
