Thanks guys, everyone is coming up w/ similar #'s & (as suspected) it looks like GT3 seats w/ OEM side mounts put the driver's bottom 0.75~1" lower vs. the original seats. The BK brackets reduce that by another inch or so. Phew.

Anyone have a photo of the 993 specific GT3 seat rails? trying to figure out if its possible to emulate these by mixing / matching parts between early & late seat tracks.
