At speed you are rarely impacted by the limited turning radius, so you just have to drive faster.

I noticed it immediately. I've been driving my 968 for about 8 years and my 993 for about 3 months. It's really a BIG difference but, hey, I'll live with it. It is one of the little quirks that makes it less practical as a daily driver, though.

Hmm ... I never really noticed. Damn. It's probably going to bug me now.

I park in a tight parking garage at work and I can make every turn in my Acura MDX no problem... in the C4, I'm cranking the wheel, backing up, cranking it again, backing up... It take me a lot longer to get in and out of the garage.

I used to own a FWD Volvo (S60) that had a horrific turning radius. I could barely maneuver in public parking garages. The 993 is equally as bad, if not worse. So, I have to try to avoid tight spaces once again.

My current DD is a MB. For a big ol' tank, it has an absolutely amazing turning radius. The wheels slant in at an angle when you crank the steering. I'll always surprise passengers with a simple one point U-turn on a tiny street

All true, but no big deal in the 'burbs. For city driving and parking, I can see where it could be problematic.

I'm very pleased with the turning radius of my 993. It always goes into the driveway fine....pulls into the garage just fine...backs out and gets back on the road no problem!

....And it looks dang good in the garage with/without the garage door open.

Yes, the 993 turning radius sucks, but I've never really had a problem with it in every day life, parking, etc. in or out of the city. My other DD is a Tahoe, so I guess I basically do the same radius for both without knowing it.

Yes, my wifes '07 Tahoe will run circles around my 993 in a parking lot but the 993 is plenty nimble out on the road where it really matters!

I dont understand why the C4 is even worse, my 996TT (hell my 68 caddy does)was 10x better turning radius than the 993. I noticed it really quickly, sucks because I live in the city and the garage i am building is for the car. I hope I can make the turn to get it in there! I still love the car though.

Starting with the 996, the steering is "progressive" meaning the further you turn the steering wheel, it multiplies the turn angle of the wheels. 993's did not have progressive steering, and with the new suspension that was developed for them, the locks were set fairly conservatively in order to not hit suspension components. Older suspension is not in the way and we have further turning of the wheels.
