Question rear grill paint-- contrasting or body-color?

Nearing completion on a highly customized 993. I've decided every other detail, but am sitting on the fence with one. I ask my respected Rennlist brothers & sisters: if you put a C2S / split-grill on your topless Guards Red, would you prefer it in body-color, or contrasting gloss black? Red center divider. Basket handle brake light's deleted.

As thanks for the RL family making this decision, I'll be glad to post pix when the work's done. (Apologies in advance: due to perfectionistic tendencies, may be months 'til all the details are finished.)

Photos or photoshops of contrasting C2S grill with body-color center channel appreciated (esp red w/ black). Closest I found:

TIA! Poll closes in 2 weeks.

I painted mine aventurine and love it, but a red cab with black topight work better with black. Maybe consider flat vs. Gloss, too.

Hey, while we're on this topic, I have a speed yellow painted grill cover for sale. $80. I used it on my RS spoiler and it looked great. Email me (no PM) if interested.

I was just searching for pix of a split grill painted on GR! I want to see it without the basket handle.

I think for red it needs to be split grille with gloss black inserts, no basket handle.

I think you are right and it adds a nice contrast.

Are split grills normally painted the body color? If so, I'd stick with that.

OTOH, you said "highly customized," so anything goes. Why not match your wheels (a la 997RS wheels/mirrors/etc.), or go with a completely different color altogether? Like green - jingle bells, jingle bells...

I prefer the integral look of matching body color the way the car came from the factory.
