Default 993 value Europe

For owners in the US you'll find this encouraging - A LHD 4S with 40k - $72k, deduct 25% for duty and tax and that gives you a price stateside.

It is a difficult market now but if you have the right model, condition, history etc. you can still find the "right" buyer that is willing to pay the premium. Let's see if this car will be sold ...

Sorry to say but that's crazy prices.
You can buy perfect nick super low mileage RHD C4S's in the UK for less than £40k , this one would cost (imo) about £28 maybe 30k at a stretch.

Well over 500 million people in the EU, exc Russia. UK has what 60 million swimming in 1.2 trillion pound of personal debt - Supply and demand, LHD will always have a premium.

That doesn't give you the price stateside.

Plus, I fail to see why some dreamer with $40 to pay eBay insertion fee and putting a price that no one in their right mind will consider bidding would constitute a "993 value in Europe". IMHO it constitutes the fact that owning a Porsche doesn't enhance a person's ability to be reasonable, that's all. This genius's inability to properly use the Cap Lock button add further proof that you don't need to be really bright to buy or own a Porsche either. That is if he, indeed, owns this car.

Funny how until the collapse of the £ the RS RHD was at about a 10 - 15% premium to the LHD drive car, that seems to have reversed at the moment due to LHD buyers using their stronger buying power. Same thing happenning with property. The currency factor explains why until 12 months ago 993 Rs were being shipped from EU to UK now they have all been going back.

Not a lot to do with population numbers, (or debt) purely the currency factor (which I will admit relates to date)

My point is that you can buy similar in the UK for export for about £25-28k , why on earth would you even contemplate this car .. It's nuts money , the man is either scamming for a deposit or is not of this planet..

I've never been able to understand how there could be any market for LHD's in the U.K.? Or is it just the collectors who buy them.?

Some of us prefer the LHD driving position.

They are cheaper than the RHD cars.

The LHD market in the UK exists for two reasons;

a) Its very easy to import non EU cars to the UK. Pay the duty and tax, register the car and your legal. Not the same story in continental Europe.
b) UK climate kills cars; if its not raining they throwing salt on the road. A US or Japanese is like 5-8 years 'younger' than a comparable UK car.

UK climate kills cars...Uber
Apart from road salt, I would worry about a fine car in all that humidity, even while it was garaged, unless heated.
