Oddly enough, I asked the same question in a poll in May 0f 2007;

The results were 58% OEM and 42% for painting them. I have been on the fence for a long time as whether or not to paint the backs white.

Bob - I did these myself. I dismantled the seats and then rubbed them back - took them to my bodyshop and my buddy that runs it - had some REVERSE Porsche lettering stickers laying around.
After it was painted - he laid the reverse stickers over the GR and sprayed some black and after it was dry peeled it off and then some clear....
Its subtle - and only the most astute see it!
