More research is good; further investigation. For anyone wanting a conversion with factory 964 parts, AutoAtlanta's the only convenient source I found that lists nearly all parts & prices, including the soft top.
Porsche may have discontinued many of these, so even the following advertised prices may be speculative.
I started with post #41's basic parts list.
Not including 993 rear quarter panel fabrication, dash/frame attachment fab for windshield, etc.:
Speedster conversion parts = ~$30,630.
