993, can it be?

The "sticking in gear" is a well known problem, which unfortunately happened to my 911. The issue is the input shaft in the transmission. If, in connection with a clutch replacement, the input shaft isn't coated with the proper Porsche-specified lubricant, rust will form on the input shaft and it will stick in gear as you described. Do a search for "rusty input shaft" or "sticks in gear" and you'll get some posts on this topic. For some reason probably relating to the synchronizers in the transmission, blipping the throttle "unsticks" it. Unfortunately, the labor involved in fixing it is the same as doing the clutch - drop the engine, etc. Sorry that this is your welcoming experience to 911 ownership. They are wonderful cars. Best of luck.

These pictures remind me of when I first saw the 993 back in 95-96, absolutely loved it at first sight. I loved the cup wheels back then, Turbo wheels are my fav now though. I hope to be back in one soon, I'm looking for a good deal on one. Congats.
