Default Kinesis 18"Supercup questions for group

Guys - I have a question or two for you owners of the Kinesis Supercups on their NA 993 cars. What sizes 8 & 10's x 18"? Does anybody know what size out side hoops are being used on sets that fit their car well?

Thank you all in advance for passing some information and knowledge to me about what is standard sizing and fit for these great wheels.

Jim

Hello guys, I know my request is being read, but no responses? Surely one of my fellow RL friends has a set of Kinesis Supercups on their narrow body 993 and give me some idea of the size hoops used for a set that fits your car. Thanks! Jim

Well, it is Friday night 95 people have viewed my request for help and frankly I am surprised none of my fellow Rennlisters are using any of the Kinesis Supercup wheels. I know it is a strange time in the world, but hey let's help each other out. Many thanks, well actually I did get one response which was to contact Thatcher over on Pelican. Already working with him.

You can use a 225/40/18 for the fronts and a 265/35/18 for the rear. These are the stock sizes. You can also use ( depending on the actual diameter of the tire) a 235/40 for the front and a 285/30 for the rear.
Just one word of caution. The Kinesis supercups do not fit on the car if you have big reds. Ask me how I know

Danny thank you for your response. Do you happen to know the size of your wheels? 8 & 10's and were the rears 2" outers? Do you have any large pictures of your Kinesis wheels on your 993? Jim

Not sure what you mean by saying 2" outers? you mean the actual offset of the wheels? Yes mine were sized 8" fronts and 10" rears.
Here is a picture of them on my car. The tires are 225 front 265 rear in this picture

My MY02s are 8x18/50 and 10x18/65. Those are typically sized 18s. Not sure how that translates to what you are asking.

Danny, there are several ways to tell the size of the hoops used. You could put a flat bar (I use a builders square) across the face of the wheel laying on the edge of the rim on either side of the wheel. They you can measure down to the flat flange where the bolt heads are and you will get a depth. This would help me know the size hoops used to build your set. I will take that number and subtract 1/2" for the lip of the rim and this will answer my question. Good looking car by the way. I appreciate your help. Jim jdorociak@gmail.com
