I feel your pain. Black is the worst when it comes to showing chips, swirls, and scrapes.
Early last Fall, a suicidal White-Tail Deer charged my left front fender and hood.
Three days after I got it back from the body shop with new sheetmetal and paint, I tagged
along with Arrwin & Bob's Monticello Motor Club outing.
Cleaning the car the next day, I couldn't believe how badly I F'ed up my brand new paint!
Chips everywhere!
At least I got them while having fun.
I'd feel a lot worse about it if I got them from commuting.

Sorry to hear that John, consider a clear bra ,it really helps. Every black car I've had was loaded with chips no matter what I did. It usually takes a few years until I forget and then I buy another black car and go through the same thing.

Thanks for all the pics guys.
Has anyone had a chance to look at their car yet. Maybe its because my car is black, but my hood, front l/r fenders and air dam are destroyed. They are chipped so badly. It's ok in the shade, but once it's in the sun, all you see are white chips all over. I may have to paint the car.
I clayed the whole car today followed by swirl mark remover, polish then wax. the black that is not chipped looks fantastic, but the chips all over the front ruin the rest of it.
I would trade a shattered window for these rock chips. At least that would be easier to fix and covered under insurance.
That drive was the best until today when I went to clean my car.

As Bob said, I would definitely invest in a clear bra esp. for a black car! Or maybe even a regular bra just for when you do these type of runs.
I'm sure everything will turn out fine tho and at least you had fun doing it!

I was looking into this invest in a clear bra for my black CAB. In the end of the day for a good job an coverage and taking in consideration that you have to redo it after several years I also can afford a respray from time to time.

We raised $1606!
Hi guys,
Just heard from Neil and was told that we raised $1606 for the weekend between us and the other car clubs that attended. Not too bad while blasting through the VT roads! Thanks again for everyone who participated and donated! Let's keep it going!
Keep your eyes out on details to our next drive in July..... "Rumble to ALMS @ Lime Rock"!

Wow, Arrwin thats great.
So I got the cobra all fixed up yesterday. Just some rubber dust and some dirt, but no damage done.
Ready for the next one.
You make it to Ferrari Manhattan yet?

Well my wife finally gave birth on Sunday to our second boy. All 9lbs 9oz of him. A week after the drive so I am glad I took the chance and went. Kind of makes me forget about the chipped up front end.
