what to do?? Can these be recoded, jumper the seat terminals??

Hi Bill,
What happens if you remove the controler alltogether? The reason I ask, I have a 95 that i have removed both airbags... I jumpered over the airbag sensors, but never thought about just removing the controler altogether.... If I can just pull the controler, ill sell it real cheap if you are interested......

Just curious here, are airbag controllers "one use only" devices? I understand you wouldn't want to buy a airbag from a wrecked vehicle but would a controller function a second time?

Also when I look at the seat belts themselves there is no wiring anywhere.
I have been running the non air bag RS steering wheel, but I got a deal on a 3 spoke 996GT3 sport wheel last summer. Just trying to get it all to work, Not sure what i'll keep in the car.
When I hooked the new a/b wheel up my Hammer didn't even recognize that the SRS was installed. I bought a new controller(996 part # supersession to the 993 part#) now it recognizes the system but is throwing error codes for the seat belt switches which are not used on '95s.

993's don't have the seat pressure switches.
If the 996 has them, just find out what terminals they use & pin them to the seat belt switch, or just jump them.

So they used the latch wiring in early 1995, then removed it, then added it back in 1996??? Odd.

Wow, weird. My 1995 (Feb 1994 build) DOES have the seat belt latch wiring. I just went down and visually confirmed it. And yes, when my car is running with the seat belts unlatched, the seat belt warning light is illuminated.

I could tomorrow. There's a fat cable coming out of the seat belt recepticle, and it's about a foot long, terminating in a 2-pronged connector that connects right there under the seat. I didn't check the passenger side though (i can't remember if there's one there, but probably not).
We're NOT talking about weight sensors here.... just to be clear.

Bill,
There's a pic of the connector you're looking for here:

You probably already know this, but the latch sensor not only trips the seatbelt light, but also the airbag light.
Cheers,
Joe

As I said, if you look at the wiring diagram for the '95/2 airbag controller, The seat belt pins are not used. They are for '96 up
I'm very confused
