Before you pull that trigger, take a look at todays online listings on Cars.com and Autotrader.com.
I look at these listings almost every day. And yes its an incurable obsession...

Just changed belts on my 968 yesterday. They are great cars and the cheapest Porsche to actually drive.

S is a really fun car to drive. Just beware that they have a ticking time bomb under the valve cover! Not just the belt, either.

Price sounds fairly high as 944s are pretty much at their lowest values right now. I'm by no means an expert on 944s and S is an unusual find, but still.

Whoever put those tires on that car... was not a particularly enthusiastic owner if you ask me.

Replaced tensioner pads and inspected chain last summer

Yeah, I replaced my tensioner at 80K - real easy. Now I need service it again, I suppose (160K, runs like a top). I'll do the chain this time.

Price does seem a tad higher than I too would expect these days, but what the hay.
