RS engine mounts - what have I bought?
As the search function is down, I couldn't find anything to tag this onto. I have long been interested in the alleged merits of installing these mounts but as they are not 'essential and necessary' (I believe those were her words 
), I came across some ebay items that crept into my shed relatively un-noticed. They were advertised as simply 911 964 993 RS engine mounts with photos that matched my expectations. On receipt, the part number (that was not advertised) is 964.375.043.80. All the recent posts that I recall, and the PET show 964.375.043.81 as the correct part - I guess what I have is an old version but does anyone know what the difference is?

Post a pic of the mounts and I can verify what they are. There really is only one version that fits 964/993, and it has a 964 part number.

I'm not up to speed with picture posting yet, but they are definitely the same shape, size, general appearance as the RS mounts pictured in the various threads on RL. They will certainly fit - although I haven't pulled the old ones out yet, they look good by eye. Just that digit difference on the part number, 80 instead of 81. I will try to post up some pics later but I don't think you could tell any differences that way. Do you have any dimensions to hand - the only thing that may be different is the depth the lower part hangs below the flange but I've nothing to compare it with.

The mounts I received are 964.375.043.81. I'm sure you're fine.

Yes, they look exactly like that (except that mine are not as new and shiny as yours ;-) ). I suspect mine is simply a superseded part number but would like to know what the reason for the differences are between mine and the latest version.

Thanks for your help guys. My mounts are correct, apparently part number was superseded due to supplier change.
All fitted now - took about 40 minutes (and that included the 10 minutes it took my daughter to drag herself away from Facebook to hold the spanner on the main bolt while I torqued up the nut from underneath!).
