Does anyone know whether the aero II package was a possible factory option? I know this was standard on the turbo S cars and I've talked to a few people that have changed deck lids and added the aero II rear spoiler, but not sure if it was a possible factory option. Any advice would be appreciated.

 

If you had the money and the time to wait all options were available in 1995,1996,1997 and 1998 for special orders on a 993 with a good size downpayment. Porsche was recovering from bad times. A high level lean manufacturing team from Japan had just left the Porsche factory changing their build processes and deployed a common parts bill of material between models. 996, Boxster and a lot more.........

 

I think overseas it was an option on TTs but not on US TTs.

There are several non-US TTs here on RL with the "S spec" option.

 

Hmmm. My car has a factory Aerokit II. But it started as a C4S and it is a US Euro delivery car.

 

Lots of us with 4S's have it. One's *** is staring at me right now! And are we glad those original owners checked off that obscenely expensive box.........

But to the point, I do not have any idea if it was available on a US turbo. I cannot recall ever seeing one.

 

Mine came this way, & I got the option code for it, I believe it was around $8k

 

My C2S came from Stuttguart with an Aero II package as well... Original owner ordered it that way. I get lots of questions and compliments... So, yes... It was definitely an available option!

 

Did the original posting not ask if it was available on TURBOS? Obviously, now three of us responding with NON turbos have cars optioned with it. I still can't recall ever seeing a turbo (non-S) so equipped.
