You can find 303 Aerospace Protectant at your local West Marine boating store, we use it on boats all the time.

Thanks, Geets. I'll try it, there's a store about 10 miles away.

What about Back to Black? I'd like to hit my door tops with it.

No problem.

You should be able to get Mothers Back to Black at Autozone or Advance Auto Parts

Also found this product for your cab top

I never used it but 303 makes good stuff.

I have some of that stuff. I'll try it in the next five minutes and report back.

And yes, that was a sight to remember.

I'd like to find out if anyone else using it or a similar product (essentially, a silicone mold release spray) on their rubber seals around the convertible roof. If so, what do you use?
That sounds interesting, but I have not heard of it. Does it make the rubber swell?

Cheers,

Mike, yes, it makes the rubber swell, pop back up and become more pliable. MR2 community stumbled onto it by accident, but I've been using Parteze for the last 8 years or so. it's one of those little secrets that seems to stay on one board, but if you do a google search, you'll see MR2 people raving about it.

Took care of leaks very well. And I think that any molding release compound should be able to do that. Grainger sells something, I might want to try.

That could be usefull on the 993 Targa's as well since all the rubber seals on those cars are aging..thanks for the hint!

Cheers,

I used the 303 Aerospace marine canvas treatment / waterproofing on my cab top last summer. Amazing! I think water beads on it better than it does on 3 layers of Zaino on my painted surfaces. I'm another big 303 fan and the local marine supply store was the source.

Another update: It took three sloppy applications of back to black, but the color came back. Phew!
