Default Oil Gauge Idiot Light Issue

Any thoughts on the cause of this problem?

In my 95 C2, I recently started having an issue for many seconds after startup where the idiot lights on the oil pressure/temperature gauge come on VERY dimly and kind of flicker a little bit. The light for brake pads just came on for my rears the other day, which may have something to do with it - I don't know.

Any experiences like this?

Thanks.

Just a thought , have you checked to see if the wiring loom mod has been done to your car?
A call to the local Porsche Centre will confirm this.

I would also check the oil, you may have low pressure at startup, & that is causing the light to flicker.

Thanks. Believe the harness recall is complete on this car due to the extra connectors but will comb through POs paperwork tonight to verify.

Just to verify, ALL of the lights on the oil press/temp gauge flicker a little - this includes all the ABS/ABD lights, brake pad light, etc.

Id' run a voltmeter over the battery on start up , it possibly could be a weak battery or failing alternator .
