1998 Porsche 911 Under $30k!
I was reading the Communist News Network (CNN) this morning and came across this article, "Luxury Cars for under $30,000" seems AOL Autos can get us some 1998 993's for under $30k. Although they didn't say anything about them being high mileage or previous wrecked cars. Here's the link:
" 1998 Porsche 911
No, your eyes don't deceive you -- CR did include a primo, high-line vehicle like a Porsche 911 on its list of recommended used cars under $30,000. But, take note: This is the 1998 edition. But when you're dealing with quality of this level, even an 10-year-old vehicle has a lot of juice left in it.
So, by "going vintage," driving enthusiasts can get into their car of their dreams without breaking the bank. In '98, the 911 was powered by a 3.6L H-6 282 hp engine. So, while it wasn't quite the road-burner it is today, is still packed plenty of thrust."
Just goes to show how unrealistic the values at KBB and NADA really are.

Funny thins is that it is under the category "Luxury Cars for under $30,000".
Luxury? A Kia Rio has more luxury than my 993. Shouldn't it be under the "sports Cars under $30,000" category instead?

I don't know about you guys, but I haven't seen any decent '98 993's in the under 30k price range, even in this stressed economy. Then again given some of the comments concerning my jokingly acronym for CNN, I should of just left it out. The post was supposed to illustrate the contorted view of the public's opinion on the value of our cars. Guess it just got lost in the minutia!

Many '95, '96, and a sighting here or there of '97s, but '98 >$30k?...I wish!

You wait, the market should go back to $55K per car any day now. I agree with Ed, let's form a cartel and not allow more than 2 993 sales per months. That'll show 'em.
Talking about communism, BTW. The great state of Massachusetts whacked me for taxes on twice the purchase price of my car when I bought it in 2004. "According to book". I wish they watched CNN more often.
