Default Ruf Spoiler Activation Module

Until just looking at Allen's post about value I had never heard of this upgrade. Is it still available? Did a search and came up with zero.

I wanted it as well until I found out that it retracts at 45 mph. It waits till 75 to go up but comes down at 45.

I'll never understand this one. It's an expensive solution without a problem IMHO. I must be missing something.

At least for me...it wasn't about addressing any 'problem'. I just didn't like the constant up and down of the spoiler...no problem, it just bugged me WAY more than the $300 the module cost. And I have to say, it was the best $300 ever spent on the car

I tend to agree, the spoiler as it is set from the factory, goes up too early and ends up cycling way too much in normal driving. Kind of gimmicky and "Hey look at me!" Although I like the idea of this Ruf module, it seems kind of pricey IMO. Weren't the euro cars set for the wing to extend at a higher speed?

Definitely agree on the "too much up/down" thing. But I was not going to part with 3 bills to "fix" this. Simpler solution for me (mine is a DD with a mix of fwy and city streets) is one touch for up for my whole commute; one touch down for when I pull in to park. This way the spoiler goes up/down only 2x a day. It has become part of my DD habit ...not to mention "saved" me 3 bills

I hate how much it goes up and down. I wish it would go up at a higher speed. I was disappointed when the person working on a DIY control module fell of the face of the earth. It looks complicated to build but would be a fun project if there was more instruction.

Someone on the 964 board was able to pull out certain pins from the module connector to make the spoiler manually operated only. I tried the diy on my early-build '95 and kept blowing fuses.

That's what I don't get. On both my 993s, I never even SAW the spoiler go up/down. It simply never once even crossed my mind that there was a spoiler back there going up & down.

And my wife says I am ****.

I don't like the way it looks up so if it really doesn't need to be up until 75 that is what I want. But then the Ruf module is stupid as well when it retracts at 45 because i run a lot of back roads with slower turns so it would be going up and down constantly. Up at 75...down at 0 = Perfect!

I have a Ruf module installed and it goes up at 78 and down at 12. Got it from Ruf in Dallas a couple of years ago.

I put together a group buy of the RUF spoiler modules back in 2004. I don't know if the modules are available anymore.

For information about the modules and the contact person I dealt with do a search using my user id and keyword RUF.

Personally I did not like the spoiler going up and down all the time.
