You're in good company: IIRC, a RLer friend had dinner with a Porsche family member who said the 993 Speedster's undoubtedly the model the company should have tooled the assembly line for.

Likewise, at 2010's Monterey, CA, 918 Spyder VIP showing, another RLer friend was told by Porsche's engineers that they'd been out in the parking lot to go photograph a Guards Red 993 Speedster.
Then the lead engineer told him the company goofed when they decided not to sell the 993 Speedster to customers.


BTW, just imagine that: Germany's engineers taking a break from their jaw-droppingly beautiful (IMHO) 918 Spyder prototype ... to go take multiple photographs of a 993?!

Crazy.
