Pricing thoughts on '97 C4S w/58K
I'm currently looking at a '97 C4S with 58K miles on the clock. The car has a clean Carfax and the current owner is the second owner. Options include motor sound package, Hi-Fi Stereo w/6CD changer, full supple leather, full power seats, and aluminum dials. I haven't seen the car yet myself as it is not local, but the seller claims it is 'immaculate inside and out' . Assuming it is, what are the forum's thoughts on the value of this car in the current market? I looked at the spreadsheet here https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ferrerid=34752 but there is very little recent data.

Last spring I sold my pretty heavily modded C4S with approx 74k miles for around $43-$44K (can't recall exact price).
In this case I would guess anything less than $40k might be a decent deal. However, asking/selling prices are all over the place.

There is a separate thread where a RL member is offer his 98 C2S for sale for $37K. Needs a quick sale because of a divorce or something.

You won't find a better price for that car and it's from a known RL member.
65K miles.
If I were you I'd try to grab it before it's gone. Won't last imo even in this market.

Assuming it has all records and is in great shape, I would guess you would be able to get the car in the 35-37 range. Right now there are a lot of 'good deals' out there. If you don't mind higher mileage, you can get some amazing prices on well sorted cars.

Ploglet, I disagree. Even now, I don't think a '97 C4S with that mileage is worth only $35 - 37K if it's in "great" or "immaculate" shape. Really nice cars still bring more. If it's not so nice, then that's another story.

What's the maintenance history like? Assuming the car is mechanically and cosmetically solid, I assume he's asking mid to high forties. He would be wise in this market to accept $40-42K.
I think that high mileage examples (60-100K) inherently show more exterior and interior wear. I think their values are dropping at a higher clip, and I wouldn't be surprised to see those in the $35K range (and that's assuming the car is mechanically solid, and has some options).
Again, I'm comparing asking vs. actual selling prices.
