Um. Holy crap. Thank you for making the obsessiveness I occasionally feel seem like nothing more than a passing fancy by comparison.

I would imagine a full out ride in that once sorted would elicit the same response I gave after my first ride in a Radical at Thunderhill. I told the owner, "If driving a 993 is like having sex with a supermodel, that thing is like fking a **** star."

What PCA class would you run that in? Im guessing GT3? Since you know what all the body parts weigh, care to share? I have all metal parts still on the car but the doors are gutted and seem pretty light.

Only fiberglass on my car is the rear deck and tail and front nose. The nose is about the same as a stock piece.

Just wondering how much weight is to be lost from:

Front Fenders
Rear Fenders "much more work fitting"
Doors
Hood

My car right now is 2650 with no fuel but full of oil. Still have glass front windshield, rear glass and rear quarter glass. Door glass is out and doors gutted for cage.

Thanks for any info you are willing to share.

Jeff

Joe: Nice. My rsr is almost all CF panels and comes in at 2288lbs, dry. The weight saving is pretty extreme on my car, if its solid its CF.

Joe,

Good talking today.

I finally saw your pics - you did an AWESOME job on it!

Well done!

I know you will enjoy it once you get the small teething issues sorted.

Gasser -- I'd recommend taking a look at gt racing catalog (link below). They have pretty good descr of how much weight you loose for everything. By far the biggest weight loss is doors. fiberglass/cf doors are like 7 lbs each. i had doors on my 930 stripped of everything mechanical and i think they weighed around 40lbs each (some else can chime in if they know better numbers).

http://www.gt-racing.com/

I think stock hood is around 40 lbs and fiberglass ones are around 10 lbs.

As for pca class, not sure. ...haven't ran through calc.

JamesE -- that's pretty light 993. I think extra weight in mine is cage. Does yours have standard factory cage?

James -- I see... yea, i got a few more bars, plus full nascar on drivers side. here's pic looking through front windshield hole. also, those seats you have look very similar to mine. ...i have no idea what my seat is out of, it's used and, came with tub when i got it.

Thanks. Yes gutted doors weigh 47 pounds. Just pulled air handler behind fuel tank and saved 20 pounds counting the tubing. I think looking at all parts needed I'll weigh right at 2450 with no fuel. For gt4 I'll be light but gives me a little wiggle room.

Thanks.
