Here is another set on Ebay ... no affiliation ... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PORSC...spagenameZWDVW

$1,975.00 FOR SALE - 18" SPEEDLINE ALISEO set for PORSCHE 993 Model. Not sure of any other applications.

2 - 8" x 18" (45 offset), 2 - 10" x 18" (56 offset). These were used on a narrow body Porsche 993 offset is perfect all the way to Euro and RS ride hts.

Typical tire sizes for these widths - 225 / 40 x 18 at front & 265-275 / 35 x 18" at the rear.

This set is in beautiful condition 8 out of 10. One wheel was professionally refinished hence the "SPEEDLINE" etching is gone, one wheel has a 1/4" scrape on the outermost rim edge (very hard to see in photo).

If wheel was assembled with a 1.75 would be a 10.5, 2.25 would be an 11" or you could build with a 7" inner and a 3.75 making an 11" but with deep offset. Turbo body or C2S, C4S I have one 3.75 and could build a test wheel for viewing. It obviously changes the price, but you get want you. Jim
I'm going to want a deeper dish than the 2.75 lip you pictured on the Alesio.

If I went with the 3.75 lip, the 7"inner and final width of 11"...what final offset are you at ????

Anything more than ET45...maybe ET40 on 11width will push her out beyond fender line.

I must have an RS spoke cut and not the Alesio spokes (FYI). Bad timing for me on this now but you have my attention. If you're still able, we'll get it done Spring '09 for sure.

My ultimate motivation for selling the OEM RS Speedlines was due to the look of the rear lip (not aggressive enough) and the fact I needed 25mm adapters to finalize offset...added weight sucked.

FYI, the Alesio wheels on ebay look great, but in comparison, Jim's work is an 11 out of 10. They look better than original.

Someone teach me how to shrink the file size of my pics without shrinking the actual dimensions so that I can post some pics!

Keith -- since you already had a set of 993 RS wheels and you needed a 25mm spacer tells me that a 2.25" outside hoop instead of your 1.25" hoop would make a 11." Changing the inside hoop to a 7" does nothing to effect where the other hoop sits at the fender lip that is a relationship from the center to the edge of the fender lip.
I am attaching pictures of a special rim that was built with a 5.25" outer hoop for a Widebody 993, as you can see it will require the fiberglass flare to be added to cover the wheel. It appears that at least 2 to 2.5" is sticking beyond the fender lip, which is why I am thinking 2.25 - 2.75" outside rim width is widest which will fit. Jim

Thanks Jim. One more question, then I'll leave it till spring and will bother you more then......

Is it possible to design the outer lip/dish so it's flat and NOT stepped as it appears in the Alesio pic you posted ???

Jim, if I ever get back into aircooled cars, I'll definitely give you a call.

Keith, step lip are stronger and IMO look more appropriate for the era.

Most of the rims that have no steps in them are 19" or larger wheels and the centers are designed for that size of wheel and that kind of lip. They are stronger that way (with the steps) it also lets the manufacturer make a center and use it for 17 and 18" wheel by making the outer rim grow into the larger wheel size. These style wheels are the classic time period correct look. I just make them the best they can be and by sizing them we create something the factory did not build. Jim

Any pics you could share ? I was running 996TT Hollow Spokes awhile back and they were 11 inch rears with an ET45.

Another 11/12mm outboard ?? ....I think they'd be extended outside the fender line.

Thanks. I'll give it a shot. I'm a Mac user, so give me a little time to figure it out.

Since the centers are made for 17 and 18", we clearly can't get rid of the step. However, when having custom outer hoops made, could one dictate where the step is located. Like in my attached picture, move the step in toward the face of the wheel a bit to give more of an appearance of a flat lip.

Thoughts Jim?
