Reduced: 1997 C4S 6K miles on Top End Rebuild, Dream Mods built by Jeff Gamroth
April 18, 2009 Update:
Price lowered to $49,900. Has added 2500 miles since the post below. All new belts and oil change 500 miles ago.
Selling to fund a startup. Will consider trade for a Smart, Honda Fit, or some trendy green car I can paint my logo on...
Come on guys, my next option is to remove all the mods and sell them separately. Please don't do that to this car! Give it a read below!

This car has everything mods you can think of, even tire pressure monitoring. And it is DONE RIGHT and tastefully. Top End Rebuild was done by Devek 6K miles ago. The rest of the extensive mods were done by Jeff Gamroth, Crew Chief of Alex Job Racing, GT Tech of the Year, about 10-12K miles ago. Have all paper records.
This is an awesome sounding car. Ross of Devek was surprised how fast and strong the car is, that it doesn't feel like a 4S at all. If you see the mods done by Jeff below, you will know why.
Basics:
- 97 C4S Glacier White
- 60K miles, Top End Rebuild done by Devek 5K miles ago
- Last 2 owners are Porschephiles & Rennlisters in Portland. Mostly a garage queen.
- Car hasn't been tracked or raced, according to some "background check", talking to various Porsche people in Portland who knows the car. I have never had the heart to track this car myself.
- Very clean inside & out. Rubber seals, interiors, paint, etc. all very fresh.
- Clean Car Fax
- Passed CA Smog Test a few months ago with great test results (see earlier post)
Upgrades done recently (10K miles ago) by Jeff Gamroth @ Rothsport, Jeff is well respected and was crew cheif of Alex Job Racing. He was also voted Crew Cheif of the Year:
- Regeared tranny (custom close ratio gear selected by Rothsport)
- RS Short shift, clutch, Lightweight flywheel,
- RS strutbars and sways
- GIAC chip (Steve Weiner's programing)
- Bilstein PSS9 (Euro RS specs)
- V1 hardwired
- Bumper lic plate holes plugged and resprayed.
- Door latch "click" fixed
Other Goodies:
- RSR mufflers
- DACH Sport Cat (5K miles before)
- OE Big Oval tips
- Still have original cat
- Fiberglass Turbo spoiler (professionally painted & installed by Mathew Carlsen in Palo Alto. High end shop.)
- Still have original C4S lid, of course
- Turbo front scoops, also painted & installed by Mathew Carlsen
- 3 spoke 996 steering wheel
- OE 4 spokes spare
- OE CD deck spare
- Panasonic CD deck / MP3 CD / 2.5mm input jack for ipod
- MB Quart speaker systems (front & rear, crossover)
TWO sets of wheels:
- Gorgeous BBS RS GT with correct offsets (BEAUTIFUL gun metal / polished rims). Slight small blemish on right rear wheel.
- SmartTire Tire Pressure monitoring system
- BF Goodrich tires with carefully researched tire specs (I need to look it up), model is KDW2 I believe. 6K miles on the tires.
- Original OE C4S Turbo Twists were professionally refinished with less than one thousand miles on them. They are sitting in storage.
Top End Rebuild done (6K miles ago) by Ross @ Devek:
- When the CEL/SAI issue showed up, I didn't want to screw anyone by ebaying it, so I decided to go ahead with the top end rebuild.
- It was done at Devek by Ross. Their reputation is self explantory.
- This was a proper job done by true professionals.
- I used the phorsphorus copper valve guide from Steve Weiner

Good luck with the sale.
One question: What's with the gap on the left side of your engine lid? You could almost reach in through there and check your belts.

The gap in the lid... it's a lightweight fiberglass engine lid (see pics below). I still have the original C4S engine lid safely wrapped. Also see pics below of the car with the OEM lid.

Paul,
Curious how you kike the RSRs with the DACH SportCats? I have been running RSRs for several years now and have always wanted a more agressive sound. I have the SportCats on order... Just wondering how much of a difference they will make with the RSRs?
Thanks!

Thanks, guys!
Regarding RSR + DACH Sport Cat... All I can say is, it's the best Porsche sound I've heard from a street Porsche. It's all very subjective. I tried RSR+DACH X, OE Motor Sound, and GHL+DACH X. The OE Motor Sound is kind of lame. The DACH-X is too loud for me. When I chanced from DACH-X to Sport Cat, I was initially kind of disappointed about the loudness. But I have to say with some breaking in (2-3K miles), the sound gets progressively "beefier". And it sounds absolutely awesome now, and yet not loud enough for the neighbor to complain. Plus, the Smog Test showed that it's actually pretty clean...

[QUOTE=Paulsha911;5977106]Thanks for the GLs.

Take off the lid and bend the attachment a lil to the left, and the size gap should be reduced.
