Maybe if you stated in the auction that your reserve was $2500 you'd get more bites. I look at that starting at $2499 with a reserve, and BIN of $3995 and think the reserve is probably $3500. I'm just saying that if you'd really let them go for $2500, it may be in your best interest to let people know that!!!
Good call, I'll add that now. Thanks everyone for the help and feedback! I need to offset the cost of a DAS roll bar!
Just my .02... if indeed you are going to pay the fee to have a "reserve" auction, you would probably be better served to have the bidding start at $1 just to get things going. Are you also aware that if someone does place a bid for $2500, the "buy it now" option goes away?
The idea is that as the bidding is going up and up, the "buy it now" looks better and better to a prospective buyer making them more prone to push the button and end the auction at your "buy it now".
Here is an example. I ran this vintage Ducati with a "buy it now" of $17.5k, but with a lower reserve, first bid $1 and for 10 days. As the bidding crept up and up, one prospective buyer realized that if he let it continue, the end price <may> have exceeded what the "buy it now" was set it. So he clicked it and ended it:

In this case, had I configured the auction like yours (with a "buy it now", a lower reserve and the 1st/opening bid the amount of the reserve) I would have still sold the bike but more than likely just at the amount of my reserve and not the "buy it now".
Of course I could be completely wrong. G/L in any event
