I think they were only a $350 option at the time? I remember reading that somewhere.

Someones dream 993 is sitting out there not quite finished until the hardback seats get installed.

If I could get 5K for my seats, I'd install lawn chairs.

While I like them, I thought that $2500 for a set of sport seats was too much 2 years ago when I was looking for new seats, and ended up with a set of A8s instead. At this rate, the OE sport seats are well on their way to becoming the most expensive seats ever, if they aren't already.

Since this thread is starting to feel like Ebay, why not put them there with say, a $4000 reserve? I'm sure several of us would like to know the "actual retail price" (say like Bob Barker) of sport seats.

I think "SE" is your color code, but I can't decode it in Streather's book. If they're Classic Grey, they belong in my car. [send them to me...subliminal message]

Good idea I'll put them on eBay this weekend. I'll post the link when I do. Still trying to figure out what color they are. I can't find the original sticker. The PO told me they were Classic Grey but Mike is pretty convincing. Based on pictures of each color they look Marble too me.

FWIW, I'm pretty sure Classic Grey is almost always grey everywhere, wheel, dash, etc.

Mike's Marble Grey interior is two-tone with black, formerly black wheel etc. Yours is like Mike's. Ergo, I think your seats are Marble. A good shot in the sun will also help solve this mystery. Marble is very light, towards white.

Mike,

I like your seats much better than the OEM hard backs. and for the going rate of $5K I think they are way overpriced. What seats are those?

Thanks!

They are Recaro A8s. I have no idea how much a set would be. When I got them, they were right in line with the OE Sport seats. They are a bit more aggressive in the bolsters and they are much lighter than the sport seats. The downside is that they take a long time to track down. It took me a few months to track them down, one at a time. In any event, here's a link to a post I made after I got them:

gonzilla:

Nice touch on the 2 tone pattern. And the painted hardbacks make them flow with the interior. Looks grrrreat (Tony the Tiger voice)

Very cool. I thought that they were A8's but was thrown off by the 2 tone and the fine leather work. Love them!

You shouldn't have posted that picture, and I should have not looked!

Searching for A8's.....

Thanks for the nice words guys! As I said, the A8s were hard to track down. I found one on Pelican, and the other 5 months later after scouring craigslist for a while (I used the crazedlist.org search engine). There are two different versions of the seats, V1 with a shelled bottom which can be prone to cracking, and V2 which uses the SRD seat bottom. Make sure that you get a matching set!

To the OP, I'm sorry for derailing your thread!!!
