those are mufflers AND crossover pipes... without cats from what I see in the video.

The auction seems to be for mufflers. The video is a little misleading.

understood.... just wanted to be sure you knew.

Here is their crossover pipe (I think this is pipes and mufflers?): http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PORSC...1%7C240%3A1318

From the ad: "Expect a 34 HP increase."

Mark,

The video is confusing. The shot of the underside of the car shows stock cats. The welder is shown working on cat bypasses. Based on the sound, I'd say that cats were used with the Stebro cans.

it is a little misleading especially the 34hp gain but i really like the sound.i agree the video clip is with cat bypass and mufflers.price is also heavy for mufflers alone.

I'd be intrested to know if anyone tried these mufflers? 1600usd is a lot of money for a set of mufflers.. Are they lighter than the RSRs?

i have their race exhaust on my boxster. they are VERY loud, but sound better than any exhaust i've tried. FYI, they listed it at $1,200. i offered $575 and they took it. they're fairly well made and VERY light; the one for my car is 9lbs versus the factory's 48lb bohemoth.

I'd be intereested to hear them on a 993. As heretical las it is to say this on thjis board, when an aftermarket exhaust is used, the 996/986 motors sound much than most modded 993's. IMO.

Agreed, the video is way OT. Looks like it is a one size fits all video for them.
They show a before and after. In the after they show their mufflers with the crossover bypass installed. Hard to tell sound via video.
Either way, they need a marketing person

here's a 993 video on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vc7bQQr0_4g

here's a warm-up lap in my car: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZI0BuHadEVo

FYI, Stebro's customer service in Canada is really good. they should be able to answer questions / provide other sound clips. my one complaint with them was their shipping method. they have the item shipped to Canada from Italy. they then send it via Bax Global; you have to pick it up at a Bax site near your airport. takes about a month.

Had a Stebro exhaust on my old Audi. Their street exhausts manage to achieve a really good balance between "just enough to know it's special" at low revs and cruise, and an incredible scream at high revs and WOT.

Whole lot of Porsche tax on their 993 systems, though. The entire exhaust system for the Audi was <$1k.
