Hi guys,

I'm from NJ and currently looking to purchase a very well kept 993.
I have owned more than 20 cars but haven't had any p-car.
Hope to find a decent one very soon.

Thanks

Welcome locus:

First and foremost congrats on deciding on a P-car. There are cars available. What exactly are you looking for? Once you post that people will chime in about cars they know about. Once again, welcome.

Thanks Mike,

I'm looking for 993 coupe with manual tranny.
I have no color preference but wants to have something nice and clean with all service records.
I have 2 more cars so I won't drive as DD but will drive at least once a week.
Mileage doesn't really matter as long as service/maintenances are up to date.
Hope top end has been rebuilt already for any 993s above or reaching 70K+ miles.

Thanks

BTW, how much it will cost to rebuild the top end?
I guess it depends on where you take it but I'd like to know "average" cost.
I have owned 3 E46 M3s, C5 Vette, MKIV supra, etc. and I perform most of maintenance/repair myself.
So other than rebuild top end, I think I can handle most of DIYs to keep 993 in great shape

IMHO if the car has been well maintained a top end rebuild wouldn't really be a major criteria in my book. There are people here on the board that have cars well over a 100K without a top end. Some even have higher mile cars that have the original clutch. You are correct a well maintained car with proper records are the best ones to get. Good luck in your search and as i said in my previous post people will chime in with cars they know about or are selling.

EDIT: Here is one posted today. And it has SPORT SEATS!!!!

Thanks again Mike,

That car looks great but it's on the other side of country.
I can drive upto 1500 miles but 3,000 miles is too far for me.
Thanks anyway. BTW, your color seems to be really nice.
I never seen that color in US (although I saw similar color). Did you custom paint it?
It looks really good.

That is a car I just bought. That is a factory color called Riviera Blue. Not a super rare color, but a pretty hard one to find. Buy the car you like and don't worry how far away it is. I bought my Riviera Blue one that was located in California and am having it shipped enclosed to Louisville, KY. IMHO the right car should be the top priority.

Have you looked @ High Marques up in Morristown? I purchased 3 993s and 1 996 from them. Not the cheapest, but they have nice toys!

Holt Motorsports in PA seems to be a good place to buy a 993, many people here praise them and their inventory. Search them in google. You can find many cars on here for sale by Rennlist members, many of them are enthusiast owned and cared for , you should have no problem finding the right car here .

You might want to mention if you are looking for a coupe or cab, turbo, narrow body, C4S. Do you want/care about suspension mods? those kinds of things let people know what might interest you and then folks can post up cars they see. Many people search the online car sales looking for interesting things. The hunt is sometimes more fun than the buying!

While I do not own a 993 yet, i'd say the hunt is more fun that buying, and driving is more fun than the hunt.

Yes, I want a coupe no cab and my budget is for a narrow body but high mile widebody is great for me as well.
I prefer to have a well kept 993 (hope to have all service records).
I'll check the dealer in PA to see if they have any good one.

Thanks

I bought mine from Holt Motorsports. It's so close to you. You should pay them a visit in person. I stayed with some family friends when I picked up my 993 and then drove to my best friend's house in Parsippany the next morning--it was 2 hours or less.
