Default Yokohama S Drive tires

I asked my Discount Tire guy about a Sumitomo tire for everyday driving. He recommended the Yokohama S Drive tire instead. Roughly $600. I bit more that the comparable Sumitomo model, but I've been satisfied with other Yokohama tires so I'm leaning that way.

Anyone have the S Drive tires on their 993? Thanks.

not the S Drive, but I have had A008s, AVS-I Yokos on previous 911s and both were great tires.
One tire place told me that Yokohama tend to be more true (round) than most other tires, he wasn't sure why manufactureing technique made that so, but that seemed to be the result.

I have the Yokohama S Drives on my Miata and just love them. They are sticky in the dry and confidence-inspiring in the wet. Tire Rack reviews rated them very well, and they are a good value, too. I don't think you can go wrong.

I have the Sumi's III's and they are great as well, so I guess you can't go wrong!

Cheers,

installed on my b4 wagon 2 weeks ago, i think they drive as well as the ad07.

but i am puzzled why the s.drives are so much cheaper in the US (compared to here in Asia.)

currently running ps2 on my 993, but i sure will go back to yoko when it's time to change them.
