Default Weight difference: RSR & Stock mufflers...?

I'm sure this has been answered, but I've searched and can't get my finger on it. Does anyone have the difference in weight between the two? Or, do you have the weight of the RSR's...I have the stock mufflers, but the RSR's are installed. Thanks. BTW, mine are vintage 2002...still love 'em...

I don't have the answer for you, but in the time you have been waiting already, you could have unbolted one of your RSR's and put it on a scale... very easy to do. If I had to guess, the saving won't be much, probably about 5lbs./side. PM Robin, and I am sure he would have an answer for you.

I did a search for "RSR muffler weight" on the 993 board.

Actually I personally never weighted the difference.

Ok...so apparently I didn't do that good of a search... I thought I had weighed mine before I installed them, but I can't find anything. Anyway, thanks for the data.

Hey Bart...I got home and had sunburn from standing out there chatting...

Oh well, apparently my guess was a bit off too. It didn't seem like that much weight when I did my own DIY version.

I weighed each SuperCup pipe and they came in at 6.3lbs each.....excluding turn down inserts, collars, nuts bolts.

Weights I've measured:

Factory mufflers = 2x 17 lbs = 34 lbs
RSR = 2x 9.5 lbs = 19 lbs

obviously there is some variation, and I would bet most of it is coming from the different scales used!

Since we have a nice concise thread on exhaust weight, does anybody have weight of factory cats, sport cats, and x-pipes?

Here's the analysis that I created to decide what route to go. The bolded items are what I personally found acceptable for street use. And yes, I tried every combination listed.

OEM cats + muffs + tips = 25+34+3=62 lbs
OEM cats + RSRs + tips= 25+19+3=47
Sport cats + RSR's + tips= 16+19+3=38

OEM cats + Supercups = 25+12=37
Cat bypass + RSR's + tips = 7+19+3=29
Sport cats + Supercups = waaay too loud.

The sport cats Eric mentioned above are Dansk 100 cell split flow, unless I am mistaken.

Other data points:

DACH Mufflers = 11 lbs each
DACH x-pipes ~= 11 lbs
