Default Turbo S Tail on a Cabrio

My next project is body work. I have RS splitters on the front and want to add a Turbo S tail/decklid. Has anyone done this and do you have any comments on source, etc..?

I took a look at the one Vertex offers and it references bolting right on to existing decklid. Is this right? I also see that the third brakelight and basket handle is removed. Has anyone modified the tail to incorporate a third brake light? I drive in NJ and need all the brake warning I can get. Thanks.

Yes, the tails bolt on to a stock steel lid.

Of cours you first have to remove the motorized tail parts.

I have one for sale
which includes the lid & tail

Thanks Bill, but maybe I am not calling out the right one, but the Turbo S tail I am refering to is pictured below.

I have the standard turbo tail w/o the lights. I would imagine that with all the LED stuff out there, one can make something that would look fine and work well. If you come up with something, let me know. BTW, P-Car.com has a great right up on disabling the motor and removing the relay under the dash to stop the light from coming on.
Best of luck

Oh yeah, didn't think about the third brake light. This is a mod that I was considering for the future. Good luck, and keep us posted.

Just for clarification, the tail that Bill is showing is an Aerokit 1b tail, not a Turbo S. Personally, the S tail looks much better, IMHO.

Aero kit II tail AKA Turbo S

It should look fine on a Cabrio, just make sure you do the front end.

I also prefer the Turbo or Turbo S look.

I'm going for the Turbo S. Thanks to all and I'll let you know how the third brake light integration goes.
