I posted this a couple weeks ago. I bought the transmitter and key head with light from Pelican. Transferring key and circuit board to the new transmitter and key head took all of five minutes. Nice mod.

I did this about a month ago, right after buying my 993, and the entire process took less than five minutes. This site was very helpful: http://p-car.com/diy/key/
I ordered the key fob parts direct from my local dealer, along with a spare immobilizer (my 993 only came with one). I probably should have shopped around, since I am sure I could have gotten them for much less than I paid. It took about a week for all of the parts to arrive.
Good luck.

on a somewhat related note.....when the led light gets weak, is the battery in the key replaceable? before i start tearing the thing apart, i figure i would ask the group.
