I've always wondered why someone hasn't come up with an aftermarket version of this. Guess it wouldn't be worth it? You could probably modify the design to allow a little more leg room for the driver.

Skip the phone and make a nice double DIN (or two single DIN) opening.
How about shifting the whole thing an inch to the right?

This is the closest I've been able to find...unfortunately they don't make it for 993s.
