That's the definition of 'stimulus maximus'. Great job.

Assuming average speed of 50 MPG, that's 980 hours in the Porsche. In 2 years that's 490 hours per year, or 1.34 hours per day. That's 8% of your waking hours every day. You are my hero.

I don't think Audi sent these over to the US?
Nope, never got the A2 over here...though with our gas prices going through the roof [for the US at least], we hopefully will see a lot of the interesting small, diesel European cars here soon. We finally got the Smart, and man is that thing tiny...

My DD is German as well, I'm surprised that no one else drives one. I guess the rest of you figured out birth control. We just finished a two week, 5000 mile roadtrip. Not as posh, but handles decently compared to the other vans out there.

DD/SCCA Rally toy =

2004 Subaru STi - 360hp, AWD, Driver adjustable center differential, 6-Speed, 4 doors and enough trunk to put 3 golf club bags in it...Overlooked because of its outlandish appearance, but it is a HOOT!

Weekend = 1992 C2 (see avatar)

Sometimes its hard to decide which is more fun...

2001 BMW M5. Great daily driver & fits the family. Makes the 993 feel like a feather weight. Everyone wants to drag race at stop lights which makes them look silly. On-ramps are a blast. Tempted to track it on the rare occassion that the 993 breaks something.....I anicipate being dissappointed.

For the 80 mile daily commute, the 993 C4 gets most of the runs in the summer on the curvey back roads through Bucks County. Bought a 2008 Accord Coupe as the car appliance for the rest of the year. Funny that I'm getting 20 to 22 miles per gallon on the 993 even when driven hard, while the Accord only gets ~24.

I'm looking for a 4wd to cover the really bad winter days here in suburban Philly and to haul stuff from Home Depot and the garden shop on weekends....something like a 4wd Ranger or Dakota. Had an A4 Quattro, but even with only 56K miles it always needed work. The leaky head gasket was the final blow.

I have great childhood memories of the many hours spent in the back of our Westfalia on our way to some camping adventure. Cool thing to do with your kids.

1998 BMW 540i6 for me. I've owned it for the past 2.5 years and it has been a great car. It replaced a 1995 MB E320 which replaced 1989 BMW 635csi. Next up is likely an E39 M5 or E46 M3. German all the way for me.
