my only concern is does it affect the emission with that "by pass"?
has no impact on emissions whatsoever. Only sound. The mufflers are after all emissions components.

Oh, it it sounds fantastic.

I had mione done by FisterD. PM him for details. They are the best sound for the dollar. No impact on emissions. Improves sound by 20 hp.

as seen on the pic, isn't the mod just adding a third pipe between the original two pipes? as simple as that?

It is as simple as that, but you have to make sure they use stainless pipe and welds.

From what I've read 2" pipe is what most use and is what's on mine... sounds great.

the OE exhaust is all stainless... you wouldn't want to head over to the local muffler shop. Rust never sleeps

I use 304 stainless, and definitely weld it with stainless.

any issues with local muffler shop? bad quality? yes, I am concerned about rusting... from my understanding, even stainless steel will be prone to rusting after intensive heat treatment like welding.

any issues so far after the welding?

Just send em to FisterD (Darin) and you won't have to worry about it. His work is outstanding, he does them all the time and he knows what he is doing unlike 90% of the rest of the knuckleheads out there.
