Default exhaust

has anyone heard of doing this or have had it done on their exhausts? I have heard that it makes it sound exotic?

I believe there are sound clip links on some of the posts about this mod. I don't have the LPMM mod, I have the RSR mufflers (stands for Robin Sun modded mufflers, Can't remember what the last R is for),
which I love. The LPMM mod by-passes the muffler somewhat for a louder, throatier sound, as I remember from the sound clips and videos.

Noticed you are a new member: There is a "Search this forum" button near the upper right of this forum page. Type in LPMM and you will be rewarded !!

In the meantime I'll try to find the link.

There is a lot on this and is where I learned all about it.

I've got the 2" pipe on mine and compared to before...WOW! It is a touch more throaty at idle I doubt your wife/girlfriend would be able to tell before and after. When cruising under 3k rpm's it is a little louder but when you hit WOT it is intoxicating! A great mod that still allows you to be quiet in the neighborhood but loud when on a fun drive.

It was the best $80 I spent ($20 for the pipe locally and $60 for the SS weld, including plasma cutting the heat shield)!

Here's one clip search turned up ! Still looking for the one I like the best where someone drives around a parking lot with his LPMM modded 993.

This is the one I like the best but he has Non-stock cat bypass pipes also, which adds to the sound level.

a quote from the YouTube site:
"A lot of people have asked me about the exhaust. The engine is relatively stock.
The car was running Fabspeed cat-bypass pipes and my very own designed LPMM (Leland Pate Modified Exhaust). If you do a search for "LPMM" on rennlistdotcom you'll get all sorts of info on how to make your own setup."

YouTube video address:

You might want to search this forum for Robin's RSR mufflers, which many on the list like as well (as I do).
The plus for the LPMM mod is that someone with welding skills (or a good muffler shop)can do it themselves.

I had mine installed (courtesy of our very own fisterd) and LOVE THEM!!!! I find myself slowing down just so I can stomp on it and hear her scream back up through the RPMs again. I really like the sound on decel too... I have a cab and was concerned it would be too much, but it's not... just right.

I like the sound very much, and seriously considering having it.

my only concern is does it affect the emission with that "by pass"?

-I installed LPMMs fabricated by Rennlister Mark Benton last weekend and LOVE the sound. Just enough growl for the street. Thanks Mark!
