Default Wheels: paint, replace, or leave 'em (Photoshop wizards apply here)

The PO put custom CCW Classic wheels (18x10.5 rear, 18x9.5 front) on my 993. I want to leave the fitment as-is, but am not completely in love with the appearance. My usual preference is some sort of 5-spoke (turbo twists, MY 02, etc, etc) but the fitment is fairly constraining. I've thought about having the center mesh on the wheels finished black. Who has the skills (and interest ) to do that? And does anyone have any other nominations for custom wheels or others that are available in my sizes?

Thanks. The gold makes me a little ill, but the black might work.

Leave them. CCWs are very light weight racing wheels. You could paint them but you may want to talk to John at CCW first. I had a set of CCWs that I wanted to paint and he explained that eventually they will turn a blue hue (chemical reaction between alu, heat and paint IIRC). If you really don't like the wheels, trade them for something you like better. I'm sure there are plenty of guys here and on the racing forum who would love to get their hands on them. GL.

I have a set of MY02's you can trade me for

BTW, I like the centers matched to the color of the car on the CCW's.

I might be interested in trading some MY02 as well. Mine are lightly polished with a clear but I could have them refinished as well. Just food for thought.

Black seems to be the real fad these days, would look good, but I would leave them the way they are.

After looking at the photo shop of the black a second time, I think it would look real sharp, maybe in a mat black.

OK, I'll leave them. All you fellows generously offering your twists and MY 02 wheels are forgetting the fitment requirements.

Flat black would be my choice, but then again for what you'd spend having it done you might as well buy another set of wheels!

You know, when I look at my Speedlines now, I think I want them a dark grey or maybe I’ll paint my hollow spokes and put them back on the car. I think it’s just my way of being more involved with the car. Like if I’m not doing something to it, it gets stale. And then I just sit and look at it for a while and I think nope, it’s perfect. And then I move on to change something else…like seats.

BTW, I voted to keep them silver
