Yep, I've used 'liquid leather' to repair the severely worn areas of my driver's seat -- in particular the 'bolsters' - by your left thigh and left shoulder. The left thigh area seems to get a particular beating as we 'slide' in the 'gap' between the front of the seat and the bottom arc of the steering wheel.

You can 'adjust' the 'finish' of the repair - by dabbing a sponge or a terry cloth on the repair as it has "almost solidified" -- so that it will take an 'impression' - without you totally screwing up the repair itself.

All in all, it certainly DOES turn worn and crappy-looking seats (or other areas) into ones that, for all intents and purposes, look new or 'only very slightly worn'.

I wholly recommend it.

Aw wait a minute...this stuff is from the UK. No disrespect to our friends from the other side of the pond, but the dollar is pretty dang weak overseas. You're in PA, Matt, was it pricey??

Is there, perhaps, a likewise good product over here where I won't get socked with exchange rate, shipping costs, etc??

From their website:
"250ml G12 Cleaner £6.10 - 250ml G11 Conditioner £7.10
Prices include postage, packing and VAT. Goods despatched same day. This is enough for an average large car: very dirty and "dry" cars will need 2 of each. Add £1.10 for Eire and Europe per 250 ml bottle; For worldwide add £2.10 per 250ml bottle. Larger amounts vary depending on weight. If paying by credit/debit card add 0.35p"

So, at approximately double the $ with current exchange rates, it's still less than $20 a bottle shipped, which is cheap IMHO.

but it ain't cheap... unless you consider that spending $100 on refreshing your seats is a heck of a lot less than replacing/recovering them. Then it seems very cheap.

"Cheap" doesn't begin to describe it if it looks as good as Matt's. Thanks for that clarity!!

I redyed my front and rear seats and door panels on my M3 two years ago, using Leatherique. It turned out quite well. The leather looked good as new.

I got a PM and it reminded me:

Wear latex or (better yet) nitrile gloves when you apply leather dye.

I used color plus and could not be happier...2 years on and the seats are still looking great. The results were as dramatic as the Ferrari seats in the first post.

Try this link - http://www.dynamixdyes.com/

I used this on my Targa seats and the results are dramatic. Available to order in all standard Porsche colors.

I am interested if any of you actually brushed on the Surflex. I have been considering pulling front seats and doing all the way, but I don't have spray equipment.

The product I used is wiped on with a sponge and requires two coats for a really good finish. Some preparation is necessary prior to re-dying. For the Dyna Mix Product they recommend that you first wipe over the seats with Methylated spirits to remove old waxy deposits. Any wax left on the surface from application of previous leather care items will stop the stain absorbing into the leather properly and this results in a streaky finish.

I pulled my seats from the car on a nice warm day. The first day I got them wiped down with meths and had the first coat of stain on. I allowed the stain to dry overnight although according to the instructions 4 hours would have been plenty of drying time. The following day I added an additional coat of stain. After four hours drying I refitted the seats. The results are great.

Nick - how did you apply the stain? I tried a sponge type paint brush with fine pores and the Dynamix dye dries do quickly that i was left with a sort of "paint brush" surface finish in places. Not bad, and the stuff works great on the creaes I had in driver seat bolsters, but being picky I wondeed how to moderate this surface look. Is there a thinner, for exmaple, or should one use some cloth and not the sponge materials? Dynamix has been very helpful and I will ask Ryan there also. p.s. in 90 F. Virginia heat, nowhere near overnight is needed to apply next coat. Within Dynamix's 3-4 suggested time is fine.
