By the way, a couple things. I found a thread on this detail job at another website. If you want to see some bigger pictures and read specifics about the job, products, etc. click here. Also, it seems that my memory served me incorrectly, he only spent 18 hrs on the car, not 25.... yes, I went back and checked my receipt to make sure that is what I paid for

He didnt know that I knew about his thread/post...pretty funny. But very cool guy and great detail job.

Patrick,

After. That makes sense because that car sure looked good.

Can't wait to see yours. We'll definitely have to drive some AR roads together. I'll try and keep up.

Very nice!

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with $70/hour. This is a very labor intensive job that requires a fair amount of experience. Let's face it, most of us wouldn't do it for any less than that especially figuring in any potential liability if you mess up the paint.

Personally, I think you got a good deal. I bet your feelings about the car after that detailing were worth a lot more than the $1500+ you paid!

Jonathan,

Did your detailer detail and wax the wheel wells, backside and inside of your hollow spokes? Are you doing the 3M film over the bumper and hood?
Be careful with those new conc curbs at the office and garbage cans

Harlan, yes to the wheels... this car already had clear bra on bumper and hood. I am considering having the seats removed and having clear bra put on the backs... as silly as that sounds

JT, great idea with young 'uns in the back seat. I would do it if I had sport seats.

Looking forward to seeing you (and your car) tomorrow.

We have a strict 'no shoes' policy about when Jude rides back there... socks only. The shoes come off when he goes in and back on when he comes out. Funny - of all the things he disobeys us on these days, once I told him that if he kicked the back of that seat he would not be able to ride in the Porsche again, he has never even tried

Ah, pride of ownership...What a beautiful Porsche. Life is grand.

Anyone know of a Zaino detailer in OC?

I ordered a kit from Autopia and detailed mine last weekend. I'll post up some pics later. Looks nice, but the Paint Guard Plus seemed a little hard to use. Got some streaks. They buffed out with a cloth, though. I used the Ultima products, which were what they reccommended.

I saw the car today and really looked it over. It is simply incredible. Looks like it is brand new. Now I want to get mine done.

Beautiful car Jonathan. And it sounds great too.
