There is a better selection of larger wheels now. Its starting to show in alot of different car communities.
But it doesnt change the fact youre changing the geometry of the suspension, and adding weight.
Again the RUF 19s keep the overall diameter the same at 18s not a typical application of 19's. The RUFs are still heavier.
The process of trying out the 19's really showed me how well these cars were designed with OE in mind. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of nicer looking wheels out there besides turbo twists, Rufs included. Yet 993's are not high HP cars and they do react differently when you change/increase unsprung wieght. I loved cruising around with the 19's but in the end, the car just didn't feel the same. If I had a TTurbo, maybe w/the extra HP and the 4WD there would not have been same problem.

There is a set of 5-spoke wheels that looks very much like "David in LA's" (earlier post) listed on Craigslist in Bend, OR. I found them under Porsche cars, not parts. The seller indicates that they are for a 95, but when I called him he said they were off of his 07, 19" he thinks. I don't know him or anything else about the wheels, but the price looked okay. Wish they were 18s.
