short M030 springs?
Dear friend,
I have Carnewal HDs, M030 springs and RS sways in my 993s. The problem is that when I put the car in an elevator with the wheels hanging, the springs are loose....like if they are too short. I am scared that this could also happen during sport driving....
thanks a lot for your help

Short springs do this but this is a concern because the top of the springs may rotate while your wheels are in the air and not return to the correct position into the perch when you put the wheels back on the ground.
There are a couple of ways to avoid this. But according to my shop, the "proper" way is to install "helper springs" below the springs. When the car is on the ground, the helper springs are compressed all the way and do not afftect anything. Whenener you lift the car, the helper springs extend and keep the spring locked into the perch. I have these helper springs on my car and have not had any issue.

Drill two small holes per side through the plastic spacer and rubber spring mount to allow the spring to be securely attached with electrical 'tie-wraps' ..... a 50 cent cure that works. Trim the ends before installing.
BTW, the spring will never release when driving - even if you are so sporting as to " catch some air".

I had the same issue when M030 springs were fitted with Bilstein HDs to my car. I contacted Gert directly, he suggested that it wasn't a problem and nothing needed to be done. The shop that was fitting them wasn't happy and wanted to fit helper springs as someone has posted previously. Unfortunately, they couldn't source any helper springs of the correct size so used the tie wrap trick shown above.
