some people are asking how the retractors are mounted in comparison to older models for a 3 point belt retrofit. I do not know if previous models of the 911 have the mounting hole already installed on the car but I have attached a photo from the 993 to maybe help a little.
1.) just have to remove the 4 screws which hold the rear deck in place
2.) disconnect the speaker wires from each deck speaker
3.) remove the rear deck out of the way
4.) the mounting holes for the seatbelt retractors are the ones pictured slightly above the top brackets for the rear deck screws.
that is the only bolt which holds each retractor into position on the 993 coupe.
hope this may help for comparison purposes with previous versions of the 911.

I don't mean to hijack...but I have a question about removing the rear deck. I need to remove mine and only see 2 screws. Can you tell me where the others are and anything to be careful of?
Thanks!

Hi Jay,
Here is a picture of my former 993 with rear seats installed. When you place the seats in the lowered position you should be able to see the rear deck screws holding it in place (circled in red) on the left side there and on the right will be a mirror image.
You can use the seatbelt cutouts (blue) to help you carefully lift the rear deck away from the spot. Pull it away slowly because there are a couple wires back there for the rear defroster and the speaker wires and such.
