Default Ipod nano dash mount

Can someone post some pics of how they dash mounted their Ipods?
I would like a very clean mount system. I cant find anything that looks appropriate for the 993 interior.

Thanks Rich

This is how I mounted mine. I have the ipod in a DLO neoprene case with a belt clip attachment on the back. I ordered the Navone bracket, although any L shaped piece of metal will work. I drilled a hole in the belt clip so it would be secure to the bracket. The bracket rests in the ash tray. the ipod can then be clipped to the belt clip. the button releases the ipod, so it is easy to remove. when the ipod isn't in the car, it just looks like a clip, which I also use to clip small pieces of paper with notes on it.
when the ipod is connected, it hangs just infront of the shifter, so it is easy to reach. I never leave the ipod in the car when I leave it, although the cable is long enough such that I could stash it in the glove box. It is easier just to remove and take with me though.

If you REALLY want the cleanest look, you might wanna check out an iPod compatible Alpine head unit. The iPod connects to the head unit and displays all the iPod info, but the iPod stays in the glove box, completely hidden. Good luck!

Just got one installed in my 964 and I LOVE IT. My wife even enjoyed it. We went for a 3 hour drive and she brought her Ipod. Used the remote to change songs and control volume, all the while it was hidden in the ash tray and charging along.

Yup, I installed an Alpine head, so I have the wire running into the glove box, so everything is totally hidden. Very nice. My only complaint is that iPod navigating with the Alpine is terrible. I have to pull out the owners manual every time I want to use it. The controls are totally mislabelled and make no sense.

I did the same. And I agree about having to pull out the owners manual everytime to figure out how to shuffle the songs with the Alpine head unit.

But here is a pic of my mount in the R32 and I love this aftermarket setup and you control it thru the iPOD.

Storage pocket in the back, it's out of the way, & not so noticeable from a walk bye.

Are there any RCA (or other) inputs on the back of the stock head unit? I have a Nokia N95 that has 8gbs of music on it that I use in the WRX with my Alpine deck daily but would love to have it in the 993 too so I don't have to keep burning CD's and filling up the glove box with them.

Put it in the glove box and control it with a compatible head unit. Take a turn fast enough and it WILL become a missile mounted in the cabin.

CDR210 does not have AUX capability, CDR220 does, there is an adapter cable from becker that converts to RCA.

For those of you that are interested I located a JL Expander that plugs into the back of head units with a single aux input that will expand it to 3 so you can use 3 different aux devices such as ipod and sat. radio - you can switch it over both manually and automatically. Got it through Crutchfield.

How do you know if you have CDR210 or 220?

is your volume control a rocker (CDR210) or a rotary dial (CDR220)?
220 was not a standard for the 993, it was a 996 radio, but many have installed them.

doh! I love the look of the 210 vs the 220. Wish there was a way for inputs!

thanks Kika

I have heard that there is a way to get an aux input through the CD changer input to the 210. I didn't find too much info about it in my search, and I hated the rocker volume switch anyway, so it was just as easy to go with a CDR-220.

btw it should say "PORSCHE CDR-220" or "PORSCHE CDR-210" right on the front of the radio.
