Default 993 widebody with duck tail

Does anyone have a link to pictures of this? I'm considering getting a fiberglass duck tail for my white 993 C4S.

Thanks in advance.

Somebody on here, trying to remember who, has an arena red C4S with GT3 wheels and a ducktail. Car looks very cool IMO.

CAHRERA is the member of this board with the widebody/ducktail that I remember. Unsure how to attach links(I'm so useless!).

I'm getting ready to do mine in the next couple of months so this topic has my interest. Who made that duck tail on Scooter's car, fit looks very nice. Anyone interested in a group buy?

FYI: the fit did not come easy or cheap.

Prshguy, can I buy your guards red split grill if you get the ducktail? Does the ducktail lid come with a black standard grill or do you just use what you have?

EDIT: wait a minute, do you even have an S? Your car looks "narrow" in your avatar.

Sorry, it's a nb and I believe I would need it for the aftermarket tail.

do a search on the "coolest wheels" thread, there are pictures of Caherara's arena red C4S with a duck tail and GT3 wheels.

jackb911 has one installed on his car, I PMed him about this a couple weeks ago. -Here is the info he gave me:

Hi, John,

The ducktail is from Rennspeed ( www.rennspd.com ). I believe they are the only ones who make a 993 ducktail. The fit is actually very good. It is also a LOT lighter than the stock lid with the moveable spoiler, and the engine temp seems to be a bit cooler as I believe the fiberglass doesn't hold in the heat like the steel lid does. You will need a '78-'89 engine grill, as the 993 one won't work.

The item is listed @ $450 on the site, here is a link:http://www.rennspd.com/P_Detail.asp?PID=160&Task=STD

Thanks hans. Hopefully we will see you soon on a drive either here or in Canada.

The tail is from Rennspeed. My tail needed a lot of work to get it to look good and fit right. I would budget for well over $1,000 (probably closer to $1,500 at a good shop) by the time you buy the tail, have it shipped, buy the hardware, buy the engine grill, buy the long T bolts for the engine grill (BTW: Porsche no longer sells long T bolts), body work and fitment, then have it painted. These things are never as easy as they seem nor as just cheap as you would like.

I hope Cahrera doesn't mind that I reposted his pics, but here's his awesome Arena Red widebody...

Here's a couple pics of my ducktail, but the car is a NB.

Unlike Scooter's Rennspeed ducktail, mine fit very well and needed no major massaging. It even lined up perfectly on the first try.
