Best way for adding 50HP and good midrange torque
Hi,
What is the best way to add approx 50HP and noticable midrange torque to a Varioram 285HP 98 C2S?
And what will it cost?

Yeah - but I forgot to say:
1. I want to keep my current car.
2. I don't want a Turbo or Supercharger conversion.

OK - Ninemeister is looking interesting, but very expensive.
Any other alternatives where I can keep both my kidneys?

This is what you can do to make the car more responsive
1. G50/21 gear box
2. Cat bypass + chip + performance airfilter
3. Lose weight (the car I mean ;-) )
Ciao
Edit: Didn't notice that he's from Sweden so forget the gear box.

A kidney also buys this : http://www.carnewal-europe.com/cpx_p93027.htm
"only" 25-35 hp though
And you can always go for this one : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Super...spagenameZWDVW
Aaahhhh, no , you did not want a supercharger
No affiliation btw

I do agree that a cat bypass, lightening the car(and driver) and a 3.8-4.0 kit make for very nice touches.

Drill 2 inch holes in the airbox cover and get exchange RSR exhausts from Gert Carnwal.
It wont give you any horsepower change but it will sound like it did.
Job done.

Probably the only way to gain 50 hp (or feel like you've gained) is for the car to lose about 150-200 lbs. I'd imagine this would be the only way without spending turbo or ninemeister conversion money.

I stripped my car completly added some sparco race seats. Losing weight is the best mod you can do for the money.
This + a 3.8 engine, techart chip, and a cat bypass make the car feel/sounds as it should have from the beginning.
I raced agains a bunch of 996's on Francorchamps and my car pulls away from all (except GT3 and Turbo's)

Gut the interior ($0), remove both front seats and replace just the drivers' seat with a solo racing shell ($600), switch to Volk racing wheels ($2000), remove front spare ($0), replace battery with Odyssey lightweight one ($100), remove stereo ($0), remove soundproofing ($0), remove muffler and cats and replace with 200 cell cats and straight pipes ($1000), go on a diet and lose weight ($??)....
Less than $4000...
Alternatively you could re-gear the tranny for a bit less
